Insulating the van!

Sam went away for a week, so this was my time to shine and show him what I am made of. This was also my least favourite part of the van conversion!
Pre-warning: Celotex is not fun! It smells and sounds horrible when you cut it. It also likes to get into your eyes and lungs so be careful!

We used 50ml of Celotex Insulation on the walls and 25ml on the floor and ceiling. Then a few bottles of expanding foam to fill in any gaps that we couldn’t get to. This was then covered with silver foil insulation, which acts as a moisture barrier to stop any damp. And finally 9ml ply wood on top.

Before and after shot of the celotex.

Make sure that before you put the celotex in, the wires are all in place, running to where you want them, and long enough so you can fit your attachment (light, tap, fridge, etc) on to it. Then you can drill holes in the wood to poke the wire neatly through.

The finished product! Just in need of a little clean up and filling 🙂

Shout out to Amy and Mark Kinnear for all their hard work at this stage!
